Boosts are a generous way to help the youth cover some of their expenses in raising their animals. These are additional donations that go straight towards the kids and their projects in addition to the sale of their project in the auction. Raising these livestock are not only time consuming but very expensive. This is a great way to show your support. 

Boost may qualify as a tax deduction, talk to your tax advisor for clarification.
